A man’s wife was killed in an automobile accident in the car he was driving. If she had been wearing a seat belt she probably wouldn’t have been injured, let alone killed. He also was not wearing a seat belt. He was seriously hurt and spent many weeks in the hospital. After he recovered, he refused to wear a seat belt until the state law required it. Then he wore it without fail every time he was in a car for the rest of his life.
