In the 1980’s when computers became a thing we knew we were not going to be able to live without, my school district gave us a stipend to buy one if we took instructions to learn the how-to and promised to use them in our classes. A counselor in each school gave us direction in selecting the right model for our use and explained this incredible, powerful influence on our lives-to-be. I decided to buy a small, portable IBM. “I’ll tell you one thing,” my counsellor told me, “It’s the only computer you’ll ever need.”
